KCTS 9 seeks a full-time Online Journalist. The Online Journalist reports to the Local Journalism Center (LJC) Editor and is an employee of KCTS 9 reporting to the Executive Director of Production. The LJC is a collaboration of nine public television and radio stations in Oregon, Idaho and Washington. The LJC Editor leads seven Online Journalists at these stations and a Senior Manager of Community Engagement. The KCTS 9 Online Journalist is story-oriented, technologically adroit, and has a passion for conveying the significance of environmental news. Each journalist is assigned a beat to monitor in addition to coordinating general coverage of environmental issues in the Northwest. The primary outlet for all work is the LJC’s online network but the KCTS 9 Online Journalist produces content for KCTS 9.

Bachelors Degree in Journalism or related field; two years’ experience producing news content in a deadline-oriented environment; ability to produce text, audio, video, and still photography; production experience using social media tools and demonstrated ability to produce Broadcast quality video on multiple platforms. Ability and willingness to work evenings, weekends, and in inclement weather; and frequent local, in-state and regular out-of-state travel are necessary.
